Andrew Arbuckle recognised in New Year’s Honours List

Congratulations to Scottish agricultural journalist and former Guild member, Andrew Arbuckle from Newburgh, Fife, who was made an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List.

Andrew is a former agricultural editor of the Dundee Courier and the Scotsman and received the Guild’s Netherthorpe Award in 2012. He previously farmed the family farm in Fife and contributed to the now defunct monthly, the Tayside Farmer, before taking up journalism full-time. He also served for two years as a member of the  Scottish Parliament (MSP) and is the author of seven books, including three to raise funds for Scotland’s rural charity, RSABI. He continues to work as a freelance and writes a column for the bimonthly farming magazine, Farm North East
