The Nelson Publishing titles Service Dealer and Turf Proare to be merged as publishing editor and Guild member Chris Biddle winds down to become a freelance part-time contributor to the titles.
Next year, Chris celebrates 25 years publishing magazines for the land-based machinery sector and he plans to compile a book reflecting a quarter of a century of change and innovation as seen through the pages of the magazines.
He started Service Dealer to provide news and business information for farm machinery dealers. From September, this will no longer be published in its current form.
Instead, a quarterly publication carrying the title Service Dealer Business Briefing will carry case studies and features on best practice of value to dealerships, while a Service Dealer section within Turf Pro magazine will be dedicated to industry news and information for groundscare and farm equipment dealers.
Turf Pro was originally introduced for the professional turf care sector but from September it will cater for a wider audience, providing news, features and product information to owners, operators, manufacturers and suppliers of equipment for domestic and professional turfcare.
It will be published 10 times a year with Scott McCallum, former editor of Greenkeeper International, editing and producing the revamped magazine from his base near York. He can be contacted by email scott@turfpro.co.uk or telephone 07534 589109.
Chris Biddle will continue to produce a weekly email newsletter – The Cut – for the machinery supply and service businesses but is adding ‘new product showcase’ issues to complement the industry news editions. He will also continue to edit Landwards, the journal of IAgrE, the Institution of Agricultural Engineers.
Chris is occupying new offices: Room 205, The Hall, 4 New Street, Salisbury Wilts SP1 2PH. Tel: 01722 432615.
