ENAJ Low-Budget Press Trip to South-West Finland
31 May–3 June 2026

The cost of the trip, including three nights’ accommodation, is €295 in a single room or €200 per person in a shared double room. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel to Turku.

The programme begins on Sunday 31 May in Turku with a dinner hosted by the presidents of the national and regional farmers’ unions. We kindly ask all participants to arrive in Turku before the dinner.

During the trip, you will find out why Finland produces some of the finest oats in the world and more than a quarter of the world’s caraway – and just how aromatic it can be.

With thousands of lakes, water is one of Finland’s greatest natural treasures. You will hear how we ensure that agricultural production does not compromise water quality. Finland is also bordered by the Baltic Sea, which makes protecting our waters even more important.

Naturally, you will meet pigs and cows, learn about the role of forests and forestry in Finland, and hear how the country safeguards its food security – an issue that has become increasingly important in these uncertain times.

Highlights of the trip include a guided tour of the Nordkalk limestone quarry and, of course, a traditional Finnish sauna experience. Although the sun barely sets in early summer, a restful night is assured at the comfortable Scandic Plaza Turku, located in the heart of Turku, Finland’s oldest city.

The full programme will be published shortly. For further information, please contact Klaus Hartikainen (Klaus.hartikainen@mtk.fi) or Anna Kujala (anna@tipos.fi).

Important notice:
Anyone arriving in Finland from abroad who has been in contact with animals must observe a waiting period before visiting a Finnish livestock farm. At least 48 hours must have passed since your last contact with animals abroad, and a minimum of 24 of those hours must be spent in Finland before entering a farm. As we will visit a pig farm on 1 June, please ensure your travel arrangements comply with this requirement if you have had prior contact with animals.
