Guild members are invited to enter the 2025 Perkins Power and Tech on the Farm Awards – with an increased total prize fund of £4,700 shared between the two winners and runners up.

The Award is open to all Guild members (irrespective of topic specialisations) and has two categories: ‘Power on the farm’ and ‘Tech on the farm’.

Entered articles will have been published or broadcast (TV, radio or podcasts) in 2024. Perkins is looking for the most engaging pieces on ‘power on the farm’ and ‘tech on the farm’, from any author, not just machinery writers.

The overall winners of each category – ‘Power’ and ‘Tech’ – will each receive £1,500, while a runner-up and third-placed entry from either category will receive £1,000 and £700 respectively, in addition to a day out, with all-expenses paid, in London.

As always, we will enjoy gourmet food and drink alongside a surprise exclusive ‘experience’. Past examples include Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Wimbledon, The Ritz, and the 2012 Olympics.

“This year’s award day is going to be yet another memorable experience for our winners and runners up,” said Annette Ward, Perkins’ marketing communications manager. “It’s quick and easy to enter this award and grab yourself a great cash prize. I’d encourage Guild members to go through their published or broadcast content from 2024, select one piece that meets either the ‘power’ or ‘tech’ award criteria, and then submit the entry as soon as possible.”

How do I enter?
