About the business

Farmers Guide was founded in 1979 by Doug Potts who had spent his life in the newspaper trade. Doug made an instant success of the magazine, gaining advertising support from local agricultural businesses, many of which still advertise today.

In the 44 years since, the magazine has grown hugely and is now one of the biggest national farming magazines in the UK, mailed free and direct to 30,000 farmers. In 2022 Fruit & Vine Magazine was launched due to the increase in UK vineyards.

As well as the magazines, there are three websites: Farmersguide.co.uk, Fruitandvine.co.uk as well as our industry leading online machinery selling platform, farmads.co.uk

The company has been fortunate enough to have seen excellent levels of growth within the brands over the past few years, and its recent move in September 2023 will allow our team to grow and keep up with demand.
