BGAJ members from across the country have given their video skills a boost at the Guild’s mobile journalism course, held at the FarmEd Centre in Oxfordshire (26 March).
The in-person training event, run by BBC mobile journalism trainer Marc Settle, saw delegates learn about the best mobile apps to capture high quality video on their smart phones, as well as get hints and tips on framing interviews and capturing the best sound.
Marc also shared advice on recording and editing on the go — from managing tricky light and windy conditions on-farm, to producing viral-worthy clips and packages.
During the session attendees had the chance to capture shots over the Cotswolds countryside from the FarmEd Centre’s conference barn, and were fed delicious food made on-site.
After the course delegates were also treated to a tour of the 700-acre site, which is designed to teach farmers and people from across the supply chain about regenerative farming, sustainability and biodiversity.
