The 2026 edition of the Guild’s Yearbook illustrates clearly the range and depth of opportunities available to members of the Guild.

From the industry recognition – and cash prizes! – that come with an awards programme encompassing writing, photography, broadcasting and podcasting, to the exceptional experiences available from joining international study tours in far-flung places, the Guild really does have a lot to offer.

Opportunities for new entrants wanting to become journalists or PR specialists and for personal professional development; and a listening ear, advice and both practical and financial help when times get tough thanks to the Guild’s Chaplain and the Charitable Trust.

These all come from being part of a community of people passionate about communicating information, views and stories about British farming, commercial horticulture and the rural scene in general, and helping individuals and organisations have a clear voice in these industries.

The Yearbook – compiled and edited by Guild member Johann Tasker and available exclusively to members – puts the spotlight firmly on all of these aspects of Guild membership.

Quite apart from providing a quick source of phone numbers and email addresses – for staff writers as well as for PR and marketing practitioners, freelance journalists, photographers and videographers amongst the extensive media and member directory sections.

Didn’t get a copy?

Email your home postal address to subscriptions@gaj.org.uk and we’ll get one to you.

Remember too that the Yearbook is supplemented by the online Farming Media Centre (gaj.org.uk/fmc), which provides a routinely updated digital member directory.

And speaking of updates, a couple of pages of new members and existing member details – including their roles and email addresses – that have changed since the Yearbook directories were signed off can be downloaded here, printed and placed in your copy.

Meanwhile, ensure your own Farming Media Centre entry is up to date by searching your name; changes can then be made by logging into your Guild account via the home web page.
