The inaugural Mike Evans Award for PR Communications, formerly the Guild’s PR Writer of the Year Award, is open to all PR professionals who work in the agricultural sector and carries a £250 prize.

The award is in memory of Mike Evans, a well known master of agricultural communications and founder of Agrafax and Mistral, who died last year.

The PR award, now in its fourth year and again kindly sponsored by Oxtale PR‘s Amy Jackson, who was a work colleague and friend of Mike, celebrates agricultural communicators who demonstrate a clear and strategic aim for their clients.

Entries for the award will be judged on how well the author has delivered newsworthiness and/or technical content despite the PR purpose of the piece, as well as conciseness and consistency of quality, clarity of writing and style.

The judging panel will consist of editors and journalists.

Email your entry complete with a PDF or word document with a description of the piece and how it meets the rules of entry criteria (below) to BGAJ awards secretary Olivia Midgley.

The closing date for entries is Friday September 20, 2024.
