Agri-hub, the agricultural media service, is meeting growing demand with the appointment of editorial and PR assistant Natalie Noble.
Born and raised in mid-Devon, Natalie joins the team with an enthusiasm for this new direction in her agricultural career.
“I have had a strong desire to enter into agricultural journalism for many years, the dream job so to speak,” she says.
“The agricultural industry is a progressive community, and media has an important role in creating lines of communication and knowledge transfer – not only within the sector but also with the wider public. That is what I am really passionate about.”
Natalie studied at Bicton College of Agriculture before spending several years gaining valuable experience veterinary nursing in a mixed practice.
Thereafter, she took on a technical role in ruminant nutrition and as an on-farm representative, developing a keen interest in grassland management and calf health and nutrition.
“I haven’t had the most traditional entry into either agriculture or ag-media, but the industry is so welcoming; if you show passion, respect and willing you will be rewarded in your endeavours,” she says.
Natalie will be working as an editorial and PR assistant from the Agri-hub office near Exeter, Devon, alongside founder and Guild member Olivia Cooper, Melanie Jenkins and Ruth Wills.
“It’s very exciting to welcome Natalie as a full-time member of our team, and I’m sure with her diverse background and enthusiasm she will carve out a strong niche in the industry,” says Olivia.
“We have a broad range of PR clients and editorial commitments, so there will be plenty for her to get her teeth into.”
Outside of work, Natalie is a keen traveller but is most at home walking the South West Coast Path with her four-legged companion Oatis.
Writing infiltrates her spare time, crafting personal pieces surrounding her favourite walks.
When possible, she enjoys helping out on farms, particularly around lambing time to keep her hand in.
She plans to join the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists before Christmas, to make the most of its training and networking opportunities.
