A new award which celebrates podcasts and the people behind the microphone has been launched by the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists.

Kindly sponsored by specialist rural podcast production agency Rural Pod Media, the new award for 2024 will celebrate podcasts produced by Guild members and shine a light on impact on the audiences they serve.

Ben Eagle, head of podcasts at Rural Pod Media, said: ”As podcasting continues to grow and mature as a media format, this prize aims to celebrate great podcasting in the agricultural and rural space and encourage Guild members to push boundaries in the craft.

“We are looking for podcasts that are not only of great quality but engage with their audiences, are creative, tell engaging stories and have wider impact in agriculture or wider society. It is a pleasure and privilege to launch this prize within the Guild and I look forward to listening to the first submissions.”

The award will launch in summer 2024, with a prize pot for winner and runner-up.

More details to be announced soon.
