The NFU’s Countryside magazine can now be bought in news agents, having previously been restricted to NFU Countryside members.
“The monthly membership magazine already goes to more than 40,000 households across the UK,” notes editor and Guild member Martin Stanhope. “But now, for the first time, it can be bought in a newsagents.”
Guild members lucky enough to live in East Anglia, south west England or the Midlands, he adds, can look out for Countryside in branches of WH Smith and independent retailers.
This month’s edition features an exclusive interview with farming celebrity Jimmy Doherty, a tour round the high roads and sunken lanes of Devon, tips on buying a new pup, gardening advice, nature notes and much more.
“And you’ve ever wanted to don a suit of armour and go head-to-head with the Black Knight, now you can, in our great jousting experience competition!,” says Martin. “Over the course of a year it’s still cheaper to become an NFU Countryside member. But as a one-off purchase or weekend treat, we think the magazine’s a great read and excellent value.”
