A prize pot totalling £4750 thanks to the generous sponsorship of power systems manufacturer Perkins is available to the winners, a runner up and third prize winner of the 2026 Perkins Power and Technology on the Farm Awards.
Entries for the 2026 awards are now open to all British Guild of Agricultural Journalists members. The Guild’s longest-running awards have been running for over 50 years, recognising articles or broadcasts covering ‘farm-power’ and latterly ‘farm-technology’ in all its forms.
In addition, and perhaps even more enticingly, all finalists are invited to an all-expenses paid day out usually in London, enjoying gourmet food and drink, alongside a surprise exclusive ‘experience’.
Last year’s finalists were taken to The Langham, a 5* luxury hotel in the West End, for a fabulous lunch, a session in the hotel’s cookery school, Sauce, and a visit to the hotel’s iconic cocktail bar.
To enter the 2026 Perkins Power and Technology Awards in either one of the ‘Power on the Farm’ or “Technology on the Farm’ categories, please visit our dedicated awards entry web page. Only one entry per person.
Entries, which should consider the subject of ‘power’ or ‘technology’ on the farm in its widest sense, must have been published or broadcast in the UK between 1 January and 31 December 2025.
The closing date for entries is 9 March 2026.
One tweak to this year’s entry conditions is that only the winners of last year’s two categories are ineligible to enter this year’s award, rather than the previous three years winners.
All entrants must be available to attend the celebration event on 22 April 2026 in London, the venue for which as ever is a closely-guarded secret.
