For more than 50 years Perkins has generously sponsored the Power and Technology on the Farm Awards recognising articles or broadcasts covering ‘farm-power’ in all its forms.

There are two categories: “Power on the Farm” and “Technology on the Farm”.

This award is a chance to win a generous cash prize and a spectacular day out – usually in London – followed by a sumptuous lunch.

Entry Conditions

• Entrants must be a full member of the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists.
• Entries must have been published or broadcast in the UK between 1 January and 31 December in the year preceding entry.
• The subject of ‘power’ or ‘technology’ on the farm should be considered in its widest sense. Entries are not confined to stories about machinery.
• Submissions can include written and broadcast material. Only one entry per person.
• The competition is not open to first prize winners from the previous year. Entries are still open, however, to the previous year’s runners up.
• All entrants must be available to attend the awards celebration event on 22 April 2026 in London.
